The sequel had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest last month. According to Fangoria, it picks up immediately where the first film ends. Johnny arrives at an Ontario summer camp, where a young outcast camper is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their end-of-season party. Deadline reports the sequel keeps the first film's first-person view of the killer and promises more extreme kills.

The film is co-directed by Nate Wilson and Chris Nash, who also wrote the script. Nash directed the 2024 original, which premiered in Sundance's Midnight program and earned about $4.5 million worldwide. The producers are Peter Kuplowsky, Shannon Hanmer and Nash.

The first film followed a killer resurrected as a vengeful spirit in search of a locket buried with his body, told largely from the killer's point of view. The sequel was announced shortly after the original's success in 2024.
