John Cena says he has not heard that Peacemaker is appearing in Man of Tomorrow. Asked about the rumor on a red carpet by Screen Rant, Cena responded, “When did he say this?”, according to Netflix Junkie.
The rumor has a basis. James Gunn has described Peacemaker Season 2 as a prequel to Man of Tomorrow, saying its events lead into the Superman sequel. Cena said he and Gunn talk often, even trading merman emojis inspired by the show.
Cena has addressed the idea before. In a GQ interview, he said he could care less about being Gunn’s second choice for the role, which Gunn first wrote for Dave Bautista, according to SuperHeroHype. That report adds that Cena may appear in the sequel.
Man of Tomorrow has finished principal photography. Cena’s next announced project is Matchbox: The Movie, an Apple film directed by Sam Hargrave.
