The Boys Quietly Recast Homelander in Its VR Game Trigger Warning

Jake Green voices the character in place of Antony Starr, and the change went largely unnoticed.

The Boys has recast Homelander in its VR game, and few fans seem to have noticed. Jake Green voices the character in The Boys: Trigger Warning instead of Antony Starr, according to Screen Rant, which says a Reddit user drew attention to the change.

The game launched on Quest on March 26, 2026, from developer ARVORE and publisher Sony Pictures Virtual Reality, according to Road to VR. A PSVR 2 version is listed as coming soon. The game costs $30.

Road to VR reports that neither Starr nor Karl Urban took part, and that Green and Gary Furlong, who voices Butcher, deliver “excellent impressions.” Several show actors did return: Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Colby Minifie as Ashley Barrett and P.J. Byrne as Adam Bourke.

Road to VR's Scott Hayden called the game a “surprisingly shallow experience” that rarely lives up to its power fantasy, though he praised the narrative, voice acting and art direction for fans of the show. The recast applies to the game only, and Starr is not reported to have left the TV series.
