Verity opened at No. 1 at the domestic box office, earning about $32.6 million over the weekend of October 2 to 4 in 3,510 theaters. That works out to an average of roughly $9,293 per theater.
The debut was strongest on opening day. Friday brought in about $15.1 million, including Thursday previews, before daily grosses eased to roughly $10 million on Saturday and $7.5 million on Sunday.
